About

Christine Goertzen - Owner and Piano Teacher

Christine began her musical journey with a Suzuki piano teacher at the age of 10 years old. Prior to this, her parents had noticed that she would pick out melodies that she'd heard, mainly at church, while at friends and family's homes. Suzuki method seemed like a natural fit and it was. After a few years, Christine moved to study Royal Conservatory, completing Grade 8 RCM by the time she graduated from high school. To further her musical passion, she went on to attend Vanguard College and completed the Bachelor of Music Ministries program. At this time she completed Grade 9 RCM and Grade 4 Theory, while also studying gospel music and a sprinkling of jazz, along with voice, organ and guitar each for a semester or two.

In 2011, after several years working in the public sector, Christine decided to start her own company, Experience Music 4 Life. It has grown quickly over it's short time, with currently more than 20 students ranging in age from 5 to adult, studying both piano and theory.

Christine completed the Advanced Theory & History Certificate from the Royal Conservatory October 2015.

Christine is a member of the Alberta Registered Music Teacher's Association, Alberta Piano Teacher's Association and the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers
